Local Towns
Ambleside
Ambleside is a bustling town with a selection of shops, restaurants, pubs, take-aways and bakeries. For grocery shopping there is a Co-operative store and Tesco Express (with cash machine outside), two pharmacies and a Post Office. There is also a petrol station and Garden Centre towards Waterhead. At Waterhead itself, there are boats to hire, lake cruises to enjoy and ice cream shops!
Windermere
The largest supermarket, Booths, is in Windermere and is located next to the train statin and Lakeland store. Windermere has everything there is in Ambleside and more!
Local Villages
Hawkshead
This quaint black and white village has four pubs, numerous tea-rooms, various gift shops and delicatessens. It also has a Co-Operative store (with cash machine inside), pharmacist and Post Office.
Grasmere
One of the prettiest villages in the Lakes, it has a Co-Operative store (with cash machine inside), Post Office, pharmacist, an abundance of tea-rooms, bakeries, hotels with bars (we haven't found a standalone pub yet!), art galleries and various artisan shops.
