The Red Lion serves a tempting range of pub meals. It is a traditional coaching inn, in the heart of Hawkshead. The Landlady and her husband (the chef) have recently taken over and are certainly making an impact.

Chester's by the River is a gorgeous vegetarian cafe and shop by the beautiful River Brathay. Its a bright modern cafe with home-made menu to sit-in or take away. It is a great place to stop for a treat whilst you walk through the Langdales.
The Stove at Langdale is a recently renovated restaurant serving excellent food from local suppliers. At its heart is a wood-burning pizza stove (hence the name). The decoration is modern and the atmosphere relaxed enough to suit any occasion.

Simon Rogan's local neighbourhood restaurant, in Cartmel, offers a casual dining experience and home-grown ingredients that are harvested in their prime. This restaurant was awarded its first Michelin-Star in 2018.
